Friday, love, I'm so glad to see you!

It is finally Friday. What a great word that is. Last night I spent my evening baking cookies. Small round sugar/almond cookies, and then I frosted half the batch. I even managed to watch Project Runway in the process and be so sad to see Anthony go. His farewell is probably my favorite out of all the seasons. You have to love that sort of attitude.

Meanwhile, you are probably wondering what happened to all those delicious cookies? Some are currently with me here at the office. Why? Because my bff was so kind as to ask for me to bring them. I can't turn her down, so they are in a little container waiting to be tried.

See, these are just a few:

Oh yes, they are that good. Unfortunately my lighting in the office doesn't make for the best pictures. That's okay though. Plenty more room to try.

Weird Wednesday & Being a Total Girl

He he, so I checked my blog. Turns out I hadn't posted in eight days. I could sum up the details, but no sense in boring you. Instead, I want to take this moment to once again state my adoration for that wonderful character, Dean Winchester. And the video below is perfect for doing that. Please watch, you will not be disappointed.

On an excitement level: I tested out some sugar/almond cookies and let me tell you, there were delicious. I even ate a piece of one this morning and it still tasted good. I'll go on the recond and say that it was divine intervention (God) who gave me the idea for some of the ingredients.

Tonight I'm trying the royal icing with them. I'm going to make a lemon icing first. I know there are many who don't like the icing, but it will be a thin layer, and it is necessary for printing the photo.

Now I just need to find a good rolling pin. By the way you can use a Worcestershire sauce bottle, but making it even takes a little skill. Skill I appraently didn't have. Cookies tasted great though. I get happy just thinking of when they will taste AND look good!

I hope to have some pictures for you tomorrow!

Spring Break, Sorta

So Spring Break is upon us. I get two days. By that I mean I get half a day today, a whole day tomorrow, and about 1/4 a day on Thursday. Sounds great I know... I'm trying very hard to keep the sarcasam out of my tone as at least I do get one.

So today is Food Tuesday. Unfortunately I don't have time to post any recipes, but I will make up for that soon. Right now over on the Facebook page you can post any recipes that seem to have gotten the best of you for the moment. Mine is Buttermilk Pie. I burn it everytime and make it into this disgusting thing that I can't dare share with you.

I do want to tell you some good news as I need a picker up, I am now a guest commentator over at Diamond & Gold Warehouse. On a bi-weekly guest spot I will get to point out the jewelry I like best, and what I would/do wear. The section is called, Rings & Fashion. I'm quite excited about this. I just won't be telling any future romantic prospects about this as anything related with this type of jewelry makes everyone (me!) uncomfortable.

I'll be back on Friday, but since I'll be playing catch-up we can start all over again on Monday, Motivational Monday. Why do I do this to myself? I'm the one who needs the motivation. If you saw my bedroom you'd agree, but I don't need anyone nodding their head at me, so I won't show you that either. Just rest assure if I try to 'motivate' you it is really just me talking to me.

As If could leave this without some music. Not only is the Christian band, Skillet, incredible, but some of my favorite vidders did a collaboration to their song, Monster. Watch it here as it is beyond awesome!

Today 'I LOVE LUCY'

I can't begin to describe how much this show meant to me. I adore Lucille Ball, and my fascination with her started back in the fifth grade. I watched many of her shows, but nothing captured my attention and adoration the way I Love Lucy did. And the best thing about this show is that fifty years later, it is still funny. So today, we celebrate the love of Lucy and Ricky.

This video, which just made me gush the first time I saw it is amazing. She does such a great job with this. Enjoy!

I also have some old wallpapers I made. You can view them for 1024x768 or 800x600

I am taking suggestions for next Thursday. I would like a more modern couple, but all suggestions will be taken and applied as long as they aren't the ones mentioned in yesterday's post.

Love to you all!

Whatever Wednesday: Chuck Norris, Recipes, and More!

I have entitled Wednesday's posts to be "Whatever Wednesday" because anything and everything can happen. For example, today, is Chuck Norris' Birthday. Happy 70th! In honor of his birthday on Facebook you can share your favorite Chuck Norris jokes. See, who knew Chuck's BDay would land on a Wednesday?

Here are a few:

Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas.
Chuck Norris will never have a heart attack. His heart isn't nearly foolish enough to attack him.
Chuck Norris doesn't breathe, he holds air hostage.
Chuck Norris always knows the EXACT location of Carmen SanDiego.

Every Wednesday also brings the newsletter, where I wrap up the last week and give out the highlights in case you missed them. Not that you would, but now you can smile and laugh again, just like old times.

Bromance/Romance - This category will be specific for Thursdays. Since not everyone is as familiar with the Bromance I've added Romance. Each week we'll take a look at a favorite Bromance/Romance. You are always allowed to make suggestions.

There are only two I will refuse to do:

1. Sara/Grissom from CSI. It will never happen on my site. Any other pairings from CSI though are more than welcome.

2.Mulder or Scully with anyone else other than Mulder/Scully. I am a core MSR shipper, and have been since 1995.
Giving away nerdom, yes, do I care, no.

So last Thursday we payed homage to this wonderful Bromance: Boy Meets World Corey and Shawn. Show of hands how many of you loved this friendship? Me too! (Even if you didn't put your hand up I'm going to assume that you did.) Here is a wallpaper from a favorite epsisode.
You can get the 1200x800 or the 1024x768
I miss that show...

Because Friday's weren't cool enough they are now Guilty Pleasure Fridays. You can click here and see what I posted this past Friday on the subject. This week I have something brand new... just have to figure out which one I want to reveal. I'd like to have some mystery.

Monday was suppose to be 'Motivational Monday', but I was tired so it didn't happen...

Last but not least we had Food Tuesday. You can check out the post below for all the yummy cookie recipes. I'm going to have to try a few myself this weekend.

Tuesday's Food Day

Actually, if you are anything like me every day is Food Day, but I'm dedicating Tuesday's to the actual posting of food. Unfortunately, I have none of my own to post so I thought I would place in here some of my favorite food posts.

So here we go: Since on Facebook it was all about the cookies this will be too!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies - I just found this thanks to Hilary, but I can't wait to try it!
White Chocolate Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookies - These were great, but be sure to chop up the Cinnamon Toast Crunch very, very well!
Chocolate Chip Cookies - for my Dad who loves 'em. (But never sing this song to him as he HATES it, hehe. You can feel sorry for the dude now.)
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie - Something about homemade makes these even better!
Monster Cookies - I also did these with peanut butter chips since my mother doesn't like chocolate and they were super yummy that way too.

Now, since I've never been able to stay on just one topic I have to share this video. Not to mention my deeply fed addiction to all things music. This video is not remarkable in anyway, but when I hear this song it feels like Spring/Summer and the world is just waiting for me. I hope you have the same pleasant reaction!

Update

Wow did life get busy there for a moment. Was it busy for you too? I could hardly believe it. So, I do have a Facebook page now and a Twitter account.

I also have a newsletter I'm working on that will be updated, hopefully here, every Wednesday. That's the schedule I've set for myself.

Speaking of schedules, every Friday will now be Guilty Pleasure Friday. I will update some of my guilty pleasures and share them with you. Believe me when I say some of these are guilty and if a blog could blush, this one would. Now, nothing as gross as picking a nose, but none the less slightly embarassing.

First, however, I wanted to post this story: California Woman Gives Up Her Job for Her Co-Worker Sometimes with all the crap that goes on in this world it is nice to see how gracious and kind people are. I hope both are blessed by this.

Now, onto my Guilty Pleasure for this Friday. As you may have already suspected, when it comes to entertainment I am a happy-romantic comedy-uplifting-sweet movie kind of person. I don't like horror and I have to be in the mood for drama. My music on the other hand is wildly varied going from Third Day to Staind, the Who to Alan Jackson, Foo Fighters to Billy Joel. The reason this little gem is a guilty pleasure is because of its message. I so love this song and this vidder who created this video does a stunning job. So today enjoy my guilty pleasure!
